Forum Title: Coal tar VS asphalt emulsion
Have been thinking about making the switch from Sealmaster coal tar to asphalt emulsion. I’m tired of the burning and the smell. I also think it would be a good selling factor for me to be “eco friendly” as I would be the only one in town running AE. Looking to get some input on guys that have made the switch since I have never used AE. What are the cost factors, selling points, longevity of running AE?

We use coal tar, because they said it lasts longer. But does it? I never did my own test, did anyone?

I’m not sure what SM has got a blend but it would be worth checking

I honestly think it depends on your location and climate. We have year round high humidity here and the AE that’s been put down never seems to last more than 6 months. AE isn’t even available. I believe a better option to try would be the Neyra Force or Star Triton blends , I’ve heard good results with both
